But I did have the singing chops to get a quick offer from a major label. Not just any label, but Capitol—Capitol friggin’ Records!! Excuse my French, and with all due respect, forget the Beatles being on this label; I was more thrilled that I was going to be on the same label that Frank Sinatra recorded for during his heyday. Within a few months of leaving Cameo, I signed with them. Over a two-year period, I recorded twenty-five songs and released several singles and an album titled Somebody Loves You, but regrettably, nothing much happened and the relationship ended in 1966.
